Back in 2006, when the self-published Phyllida and the Brotherhood of Philander was a few months old and I was working on a new novel, bisexual activist Sheela Lambert had the idea for an anthology of bisexual-themed short stories. Sheela was an early champion of Phyllida and she wanted to encourage other writers who were working on projects with bisexual characters and situations. As a contribution to this anthology, I offered the first chapter of my work-in-progress, Pride/Prejudice.
As you know, Phyllida was picked up by HarperCollins the following year and published in 2008. P/P followed in 2010. But Best Bi Short Stories has been struggling for eight years. Now it is close to seeing the light of day at last. With the generosity and hard work of the brilliant and prolific writer Cecilia Tan, Sheela has developed a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds for publishing.

As an incentive for contributions, some of the authors are donating signed copies of their work. I have offered two sets of my print novels, Phyllida and P/P, for a contribution of $75. One generous person has already pledged that amount, so there is still one set left. Of course, if you are reading this blog, you probably already have copies of my books, but there are a number of reward packages still available with books from some of the other writers.
I hope you will consider supporting BBSS. Your interest in my writing has sustained my spirits during my fallow period (still going on, but I'm hoping to dig myself out of the Slough of Despond soon). Similarly, the writers of BBSS will appreciate every reader and every contribution.
